Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering from Thrivet, sizing a carrier, traveling safely by car, and caring for your gear. Shipping and returns terms below are our final policies.

Where do you ship?

We ship to addresses across the United States. Orders in the contiguous U.S. travel with FedEx Home Delivery. PO Box, APO, FPO, and U.S. territory addresses ship with USPS Ground Advantage instead, still free — transit may run a little longer on those routes. We do not ship internationally at launch.

How long will delivery take, and how much will it cost?

Shipping is free on every order — no minimum, no code, nothing to add at checkout. Orders are processed in 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays), then transit takes 2–5 business days in the contiguous U.S. You get a confirmation email when you order and a tracking email as soon as your label is created. Taxes are calculated at checkout where applicable. See the full Shipping Policy for the step-by-step timeline.

What is your return window?

You have 30 days from the delivery date — not the order date — to return an item. Items must be unused, unwashed, in their original packaging, and in resalable condition. Returns are free: we send you a prepaid FedEx return label. See the full Returns & Refunds Policy.

How do I start a return, and when will I get my refund?

Email business@thrivet.store with your order number, the item(s), and the reason. We reply within 1 business day with a prepaid FedEx return label and instructions. After your return reaches our returns center, inspection takes 1–2 business days. If it passes, your refund is released 7–10 business days after return acceptance, back to your original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take a few extra days to post it. You get an email at every stage: label sent, return received, inspection result, and refund released.

How do I measure a shelf for bins or containers?

Measure the shelf's width, depth, and height with a tape measure, then subtract about half an inch of clearance on each side so bins slide in and out without scraping. Measure twice — once at the front of the shelf and once at the back, since shelves are not always perfectly square. Check your numbers against the listed dimensions on the product page before ordering. Our Measure Your Space guide walks through shelves, drawers, closets, and pantries step by step.

How do I choose between bins, baskets, and boxes?

Match the container to how often you reach for what is inside. Open bins suit items you grab daily — snacks, cleaning supplies, charging cables. Lidded boxes suit items you want to keep dust-free or stacked, like seasonal linens or paperwork. Baskets suit soft, irregular items — scarves, toys, laundry. If a shelf is deep, a bin with a handle beats a box you have to drag out. If a closet shelf is high, a light open bin beats a heavy lidded box you cannot see into.

How do I plan pantry zones that actually stay organized?

Group foods by how you cook, not by packaging: breakfast, cooking staples, baking, snacks, and drinks. Give each group one zone — one shelf or one bin — and label it. Decant the items you buy repeatedly (flour, rice, cereal) into airtight containers so you can see what is left. Put the most-used zones at eye level and the rarely used ones high or low. Our kitchen & pantry storage collection covers bins, containers, spice racks, under-sink organizers, and can dispensers.

How much weight can a hanging closet organizer hold?

It depends on the organizer — check the listed specifications on the product page for that item. As a rule, distribute weight evenly across the shelves, keep the heaviest items on the lowest shelves, and do not hang more than the listed guidance allows. Check that your closet rod is solid and firmly seated in its supports before loading an organizer, and re-check the hooks after the first few days of use.

How do I measure a closet rod or a drawer for organizers?

For a rod: measure the rod's length between its supports, its diameter, and the clearance from the rod to the shelf above and to the floor below. For a drawer: measure the interior width, depth, and height — not the outside of the drawer front — and subtract about half an inch of clearance on each side so dividers and trays slide freely. The Measure Your Space guide covers both in detail, with dimension tables.

How should I clean bins, baskets, and fabric organizers?

Most of our organizers are made for easy upkeep: wipe surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry completely before putting them back. Fabric organizers can usually be spot-cleaned the same way. Avoid bleach and high-heat drying unless the care guidance on the product page says otherwise. Regular cleaning after kitchen or laundry use keeps bins, baskets, and dividers looking and working their best.
